What is a one shot concentrate?

A one shot concentrate is a pre-mixed concentrate specifically designed for easy integration into e-liquids. By using one-shot concentrates instead of individual flavor concentrates, you can eliminate the costly trial and error of mixing. All our one-shot products are tried and tested recipes, already available as retail-ready shortfills. Most one-shot concentrates come with a recommended mixing percentage on the label, providing guidance on achieving the intended finished product as intended by the manufacturer.

One-shot concentrates are perfect for those who desire the expertise of pre-mixed e-liquids while enjoying the cost savings of DIY mixing. They serve as an excellent starting point for both novice e-liquid mixers and those who prefer pre-mixed juices.

Before you start mixing your one-shot concentrate, you will need to purchase the following items:

  • Your preferred one-shot concentrate
  • Propylene Glycol (PG)
  • Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
  • Nicotine shots (if you use nicotine in your e-liquid)
  • An empty bottle
  • Syringes or a digital scale
  • Kitchen roll or cloth for cleaning up spills

To determine the amount and type of nicotine shots you need, consider your desired nicotine strength. A quick method is to add 1x 18mg nicotine shot for 3mg nicotine in a 60ml e-liquid. For example:

  • For 3mg nicotine strength, you’ll need one 18mg nicotine shot in 60ml of e-liquid, 2x nicotine shots in 120ml, and 3x nicotine shots in 180ml.
  • For 6mg nicotine strength, you’ll need 2x 18mg nicotine shots in 60ml, 4x nicotine shots in 120ml, and 6x nicotine shots in 180ml.
  • For 12mg nicotine strength, you’ll need 4x 18mg nicotine shots in a 60ml bottle, 8x nicotine shots in a 120ml bottle, and 12x nicotine shots in 180ml.

When purchasing nicotine shots, you’ll come across two types: 50/50 and max VG nicotine shots. The choice depends on the type of e-liquid you want to mix. For high VG e-liquids used in sub-ohm tanks or RTAs, max VG nicotine shots are suitable. If you’re mixing e-liquid for mouth-to-lung devices, it’s preferable to use 50/50 nicotine shots.

How to Mix your one shot concentrate:

Based on the manufacturer’s recommended mix percentage (which you can find on the one shot concentrate bottle), add the appropriate amount of the one shot vape flavor to your e-liquid bottle.

If you want to achieve a specific nicotine strength, add the necessary nicotine shots. Then, top up the bottle with premixed DIY e-liquid base, vegetable glycerin, or propylene glycol.

Once you’ve added all the ingredients, close the e-liquid bottle and give it a good shake. Allow a couple of days for the flavor to steep, and your one shot vape flavor will be ready to use.

One shots are an excellent introduction to the world of vape flavor concentrates. For more complex flavors, you can enhance your one shot flavor concentrate by adding additional advanced vape concentrates to create a recipe that perfectly matches your preferred vape flavor.

Before Vaping: Depending on the type of flavored e-liquid you’ve mixed, it may benefit from steeping. Steeping involves allowing the e-liquid to settle and the components to bind, enhancing the flavor. While it’s not mandatory, the flavors will improve and develop over time. However, if you enjoy them right away, feel free to start vaping immediately!

As a general guideline, consider the following steeping times:

  • Mint and Menthol: Can be vaped right away but may improve overnight.
  • Fruits: Ready to vape immediately but may benefit from steeping for up to a week.
  • Creams and Bakeries: Generally require steeping for 3 weeks.
  • Tobaccos: Ideally steeped for 4-6 weeks.
  • Custards: Best when left to steep for a couple of months or 6-8 weeks.
